fleurs de la ceour
situ gintung: This lake is 5 minutes away from where I live. About two years ago - almost three - a dam made of mud stood holding the water back. It had been built in the 30s and for 80 years had remained solid - until one early morning in 2009 it burst, and gallons of water rushed into the village behind it, drowning people in their sleep. Over 100 people died and more were displaced. Over the years a stronger dam has been built and finally the water is slowly creeping back in. Almost as a peace offering, these flowers now grow by the lakeside. I long for the day I can once again go sailing in this beautiful lake.
